PANAMA CITY, June 2 (Xinhua) -- A mass prison break in Panama province left at least three people dead and nine others injured, Panamanian police said on Tuesday.

Authorities said 195 inmates escaped during the incident on Monday.

Police said 123 of the fugitives have since been recaptured, while search operations continue for those still at large. ■
