CAIRO, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian, Qatari, and Saudi top diplomats held separate phone calls on Friday to address rapid developments in the region, focusing on the Iranian crisis and the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

During two separate phone calls with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty reviewed the latest developments in the U.S.-Iranian negotiations and diplomatic efforts to reach a consensual settlement that addresses the concerns of all parties, including the Gulf states, while enhancing regional security and stability, according to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

The ministers also discussed the developments of the crisis in Sudan, where Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's firm stance in support of Sudan's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

He emphasized the necessity of preserving Sudan's national state institutions as the fundamental pillar for restoring security and stability, while rejecting any parallel entities.

Abdelatty also stressed the importance of reaching a humanitarian truce as a prelude to a sustainable ceasefire, ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid, and supporting a comprehensive, Sudanese-owned and Sudanese-led political process to restore security and fulfill the aspirations of the Sudanese people. ■
